The United States suffered the biggest defeat ever seen at the United Nations General Assembly on October 27. The country's everlasting stance was crushed by a near-unanimous vote of the international community in favor of a new resolution rejecting Washington's genocidal blockade of the  Caribbean island. From the 193-member UN General Assembly, 191 voted in  favor of a resolution renewing the call to lift the economic, commercial, and financial embargo on Cuba. The US and Israel, were two exceptions who opposed the United Nations, which was absolutely predictable.

Israel — US's best ally in wars and crimes against the humanity, joined Washington, whose "unhappy" representative in New York could not explain why the Obama administration still maintains the blockade of the Greater Antilles, although Cuba and the US have recently restored diplomatic relations. Washington received strong criticism from a large number of representatives of different nations, who strongly refuted the aggressive policy of successive White House administrations.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez stressed repeatedly that the only way to normalize the relations between two countries is the lift of the blockade, which is still in its complete and full implementation. He emphasized that the economic war against Cuba is a real genocide, and is the main obstacle to the development of his nation, which has been suffering from the hostile behavior of its closest northern neighbor for more than 50 years. Rodriguez challenged the US delegates to the UN not to lie, which is a big diplomatic leap, since Cuba could not even do that in previous years. Before, he could only read from a small piece of paper that made no sense.

At the same time, Cuban FM reaffirmed that the Greater Antilles never renounced its principles, and will remain in the front rows for peace struggle, against wars and aggressions. He pointed out that Cubans will defend its independence and sovereignty, and continue on the same path searching for a better, just, and equitable Socialism without any doubts.

While US Maneuvers Towards Cuba – Cubans Turn to Russia

The historical and resonant defeat of the US in the United Nations, is the pay off for its imperial arrogance that is blinding, and which prevents the White House to admit that it is no longer the hegemony of the entire world, moreover, far from it. An elegant and an intelligent way out, which would be seen as a gesture to Cuba and the international community, would have been Washington's abstinence from voting, or to have just left the headquarters of the UN General Assembly.

But successive White House occupants and their advisers are still learning the lessons, as the worst students in class, who end up condemning the subject, while looking ridiculous to others. The US made the news yet again – the worst news to be recorded in history of the United Nations.
